Located off SR 92 at the corner of Marco Island Goodland maintains its reputation as a laid back fishing community with charm. Founded in the late 1800’s, the name Goodland was given due to the 40-acre shell mound left by the Calusa Indians that was ideal for growing fruits and vegetables. Goodland reminded isolated until 1938 when a swing bridge was built. By 1949, Goodland changed forever when families from Caxambas settled in Goodland.
Goodland is known for the waterfront restaurants, art and crafts festivals and Sunday Funday, which draw crowds for food, live music and dancing.
